About VGoods Lab
The future of technology isn’t just in the cloud—it’s in the homelabs, the self-hosted servers, and the local GPUs running under our desks.
VGoods Lab was created as a digital workshop for developers, system administrators, and tech enthusiasts who love to get their hands dirty. We believe in the power of open-source and the freedom of self-hosting.
How Every Guide Is Made
- Tested on real hardware. Every tutorial is run end to end in a real environment before it is published — the GPU model, OS version, and software versions are the ones actually used.
- Commands you can copy. Steps are written to be followed, not admired. Where something is untested or version-sensitive, it is marked as such.
- Honest about limits. If a tool has rough edges, missing features, or better alternatives, you’ll read about it here first.
What We Explore Here
- Local AI & LLMs: Step-by-step guides on deploying and optimizing AI models entirely offline, from llama.cpp to RAG pipelines.
- Homelab & Self-Hosting: From Docker containers to complex networking, we share practical architectures you can run at home.
- AI Agents & Automation: Agent frameworks, memory systems, and n8n workflows that survive contact with reality.
- PCVR & Quest: Tuning, sideloading, and getting standalone headsets to punch above their weight.
- Hardware & Performance: Honest, geek-centric reviews and optimizations for servers and PC builds, with measured results.
What We Don’t Do
No sponsored rankings, no rewritten press releases, no copy-pasted docs posing as tutorials. If a post exists here, someone ran the commands. We test the limits so you don’t have to.
